Position Summary

The Industrial Machine Degreaser is responsible for cleaning, degreasing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, production machinery, and work areas to support safe and efficient operations. This entry-level position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, specifically LOTO, and the ability to work in an industrial environment using cleaning chemicals and hand tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean production equipment, machinery, and manufacturing lines according to established procedures.
• Remove grease, dirt, oil, plastic pellets/dust, and debris from industrial equipment and facility surfaces.
• Use approved cleaning agents, degreasers, pressure washers, dry ice machine, scrapers, brushes, and other cleaning tools.
• Assist maintenance personnel by preparing equipment for inspection, repair, or preventative maintenance activities.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures when cleaning equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of production floors, maintenance areas, and utility spaces.
• Properly collect, contain, and dispose of waste materials in accordance with company and environmental requirements.
• Inspect equipment for obvious signs of damage, leaks, or wear and report findings to maintenance supervision.
• Restock cleaning supplies and maintain organization of cleaning equipment and storage areas.
• Support plant housekeeping initiatives and help maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and equipment.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred

• Previous experience in industrial cleaning, manufacturing, janitorial services, maintenance support, or production operations.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning chemicals and degreasers.
• Experience operating pressure washers, dry ice machines or similar cleaning equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the shift.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, dusty, and noisy manufacturing environments.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
• Ability to climb ladders and work around elevated platforms when required.
