Job Description

Purpose: The International Technical Sales Specialist exists to develop global equipment, parts, and service opportunities while providing the technical application support needed to secure orders, support installations, and sustain customer satisfaction after the sale.

Identify, develop, and close international equipment sales opportunities in targeted industries, geographies, and strategic accounts where Evergreen, a Novolex Brand products, parts, and service capabilities create measurable customer value.

Serve as a combined sales and technical service resource by assessing customer processing, packaging, equipment, service, and aftermarket needs and proposing complete solutions that include equipment, parts, installation, commissioning, training, and ongoing support.

Develop demand in global markets through direct customer engagement, personal presentations, distributor/channel relationships, technical evaluations, and coordination with internal sales, service, engineering, manufacturing, and parts teams.

Lead the customer through the buying process by identifying decision makers, technical influencers, purchasing requirements, project timelines, capital approval needs, and post-sale service expectations.

Ensure customer satisfaction from opportunity development through order fulfillment, installation, after-sales support, troubleshooting, and long-term account management.

WHAT: Develop and execute the international sales plan to achieve equipment, parts, and service revenue targets.
HOW: Segment, target, and position priority markets and accounts; maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts; prospect new applications; and manage long-cycle opportunities from discovery through purchase commitment.

WHAT: Provide technical sales leadership and application expertise for equipment projects.
HOW: Understand customer processing, distribution, packaging, sanitation, and growth requirements; evaluate equipment condition and performance issues; prepare equipment modification and labor quotations; and recommend solutions that support customer productivity and packaging quality.

WHAT: Coordinate installation, commissioning, service support, and after-sales satisfaction for international customers.
HOW: Partner with field service, engineering, manufacturing, and parts teams to plan resources, manage project scope, support emergency or breakdown service, provide troubleshooting assistance, and ensure customers receive what was promised during the sales process.

WHAT: Build strategic customer and channel relationships across assigned international markets.
HOW: Identify buyers, users, technical evaluators, distributors, and regional partners; communicate competitive intelligence; develop long-term relationships; and position Evergreen, a Novolex Brand as a global equipment and service partner rather than only a supplier.

WHAT: Maintain complete product, market, and competitive knowledge.
HOW: Stay current on equipment technologies, applications, sanitation requirements, customer systems, competitor offerings, pricing, performance issues, and emerging market trends; maintain installation profiles and recommend new products, features, and programs.

WHAT: Promote customer satisfaction, safety, compliance, and ethical business practices.
HOW: Resolve customer conflicts promptly, communicate clearly across cultures and time zones, complete administrative requirements, participate in required training, follow company policies, support safe work practices, and protect business information.

 

 

Key Challenges: Briefly describe the key challenges the position/role currently faces or will face in the next 1-2 years regarding:

 

Manage global customers across regions, languages, cultures, time zones, and extended international travel requirements while maintaining strong customer responsiveness.

Develop and close international equipment, aftermarket parts, and service opportunities in assigned global markets, including new accounts with limited awareness of Evergreen, a Novolex Brand.

Navigate long sales cycles of two to five years from project discovery through installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance.

Support technical service, commissioning, training, troubleshooting, and installation success while ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.

Adapt to changing customer capital spending, global economic conditions, credit availability, and competitive pressures.

Maintain accurate machine-opportunity forecasts to support inventory planning, manufacturing alignment, resource planning, and revenue performance.

Stay current on technical product lines, applications, customer processing needs, competitive offerings, and effective regional channel strategies with distributors, agents, and service partners.

Manage expenses related to international travel, customer visits, technical support, and regional channel development.

 

Knowledge and Experience: Briefly describe the knowledge, skills, demonstrated behaviors and experience required for entry into the position/role.

 

5–7 years of sales, technical service, engineering, equipment manufacturing, or related industry experience.

Working knowledge of food, dairy, juice, beverage, primary packaging, filling equipment, and customer processing applications.

Mechanical understanding of filling equipment, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment modification, and customer training requirements.

Experience managing national, key, or international accounts and selling to multiple levels, including users, technical evaluators, purchasing teams, and executive decision-makers.

Knowledge of hot fill, cold fill, ESL, aseptic processing, CIP, sterilization, sanitation principles, and general GMP practices is preferred.

Strong communication, organization, negotiation, customer relationship, and time-management skills; ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, video meeting platforms, mobile communications tools, and international customer communication channels.

Fluent written and spoken English required; additional language capability is a plus. Passport and ability to travel internationally are required.

 

 

Organizational Relationship: Show how the position/role fits into the total organization by attaching a copy of an organization chart.

 

Position reports to the General Manager. The role works closely with sales, field service, engineering, manufacturing, parts, finance, and regional channel partners to develop international opportunities and deliver complete customer solutions.

Requires 70%–80% international travel, including extended trips of three to four weeks depending on customer, installation, and market-development needs.

Requires flexibility for meetings, calls, customer support, and issue resolution across global time zones; not limited to standard business hours.

Must be able to travel independently, manage territory and travel plans, and adjust schedules quickly based on customer or project needs.

Requires close collaboration with sales, service, engineering, manufacturing, parts, finance, and channel partners to deliver a complete customer solution.

May require hands-on technical support, equipment assessment, customer training, troubleshooting assistance, and participation in installation or commissioning activities.

Must represent Evergreen, a Novolex Brand professionally in global markets and maintain strong customer relationships before, during, and after the sale.
