Job Description

Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to a large production team to ensure achievement of safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence by developing the workforce, enforcing policies, and driving continuous improvement across assigned departments.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct daily operations within the production department to meet production targets, ensure safety, and deliver quality that meets customer specifications.
  • Supervise a team of 70+ employees, including both salaried and hourly personnel.
  • Schedule, track, and monitor production performance and costs to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
  • Maintain an effective workforce by managing hiring, training, coaching, and corrective actions.
  • Implement best practices and enforce consistent company policies and procedures.
  • Complete and maintain timely, accurate reports on key production metrics such as efficiency, downtime, and cost.
  • Provide performance feedback to team members and communicate results both up and down the organization.
  • Develop and lead safety awareness programs, communicate safety concerns, and conduct or lead investigations into safety incidents.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including process design and implementation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, quality, and other departments to ensure alignment and success.

 

Candidate Requirements:                     

  • Prefer bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in statistical methods and process improvement techniques.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—across all levels of the organization.
  • Effective team building and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a large and diverse team.
  • Ability to speak and read Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies as a member of the emergency response team.
