Job Description

Position Summary

The Quality Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting quality and food safety compliance programs across the organization. This position works under the guidance of Quality leadership and focuses on managing compliance documentation, supporting audits, analyzing quality data, and assisting with customer and regulatory requests. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and eager to build a career in quality, compliance, and food safety within a manufacturing environment.

 

Compensation:

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000 - $90,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Request, review, and maintain quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance documentation enterprise wide.
  • Perform regulatory research. Review supplier compliance materials for completeness and accuracy. Present compliance concerns to Quality leadership.
  • Ensure Novolex compliance documentation is complete, accurate, current, and aligns with program, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Research raw materials used in products, determine regulatory compliance and draft regulatory letters to support requested information. Escalate any regulatory concerns that may not comply with Novolex and /or customer requirements.
  • Escalate employee safety and environmental risk concerns found during the supplier and raw material review process.
  • Provide “analytical” work/tasks such as data analysis for improvement efforts.
  • Support responses to customer requests related to product specifications, quality, food safety, sustainability programs and regulatory compliance; including completing questionnaires, responding in customer database portals and supporting requests related to business opportunities.
  • Contribute to advancing the department’s use of electronic tools such as AI, Power BI, Smartsheet, and other tools as defined.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Product Development, Preproduction, Sales, and Customer Service teams. Including participating in cross-functional team projects enterprise wide.
  • Assist Quality and Food Safety project managers with planning, scheduling, and tracking projects. Help maintain project timelines, action items, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and provide updates to management. Maintain organized project documentation, including project plans, reports, and tracking logs.
  • Assist with internal audits across multiple audit schemes and track corrective action activities.
  • Support preparation for third‑party audits, including document organization and on‑site audit assistance.
  • Compile, maintain, and report quality and compliance data. Maintain organized electronic records and databases related to compliance programs. Including weekly and monthly department reporting, analytical trending of history data, and/or customer support related to new regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and auditors. Provide timely information; advise and notify management of progress or concerns related to deadlines, changes or other status.
  • Assist with updating procedures, forms, and tracking tools as needed.
  • Implement continuous improvement opportunities with guidance from Quality leadership.
  • Follow company policies while representing Novolex in a professional and ethical manner.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Remote, home‑based position with travel within the US and Canada (up to 30%) to support learning, compliance understanding, audits, plant and customer visits.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and organization
  • Analytical mindset with interest in quality systems, compliance, and food safety
  • Ability to read understand and apply complex information such as regulatory statements, ISO, or food safety programs and other applicable programs.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative team player capable of working independently with guidance
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, remote environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness and ability to learn Microsoft Copilot and other compliance or quality software tools
  • Highly inquisitive, dependable, and detail‑oriented

Education & Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related science/technical field preferred, would accept 5+ years of relevant direct experience in a quality organization
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (U.S. & Canada travel required)
