Pay: $26.00 - $30.00.  Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and technical knowledge.

 

Shift Openings -

Hours of employment: Friday to Monday 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Hours of employment: Friday to Monday 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM

 

POSITION PURPOSE
The Fabricator is responsible for the design, fabrication, modification, repair, and installation of equipment,
tooling, machine components, guards, structures, and facility improvements used throughout the manufacturing
facility. This position supports production, maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives by
producing high-quality fabricated components that enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and workplace
safety.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
FUNCTIONS:
Under the direct supervision of the maintenance supervisor the fabricator will make mechanical repairs on all
equipment; to include, but not limited to, gear boxes, bearings, lubricants, valves, filters, regulators, pumps,
fluid storage devices, calculations pertaining to fluid power, single and three phase power Must be able to
work with sprockets, chains, variable speed belts, and gears. Will be required to perform various test
instruments for voltage, amperage, resistance and continuity. This position is backed-up by other Fabricators.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and practices.
2. Follow all food safety and consumer safety policies, procedures, and practices.
3. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, mechanical drawings, and parts manuals.
4. Must be able to use various shop machines: Arc welder, Mig welder, Tig welder, cutting torch, saws,
presses, grinders, etc.
5. Must be able to fabricate parts and equipment from stock.
6. Fabricate metal parts, machine guards, platforms, carts, fixtures, brackets, and production tooling.
7. Perform welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and metal forming operations.
8. Repair damaged equipment and fabricate replacement parts.
9. Install fabricated components and verify proper fit, function, and safety.
10. Work closely with maintenance, engineering, production, and safety teams to support operational
needs.
11. Assist in machine modifications and continuous improvement projects.
12. Maintain welding and fabrication equipment in safe operating condition.
13. Use ladders, as needed, to access machinery.
14. Reach, crawl, kneel, etc., and move various components of the machinery and facility to effect repairs
and general maintenance.
15. Move raw materials, finished product, supplies, etc., with or without assistance.
16. Requires operation of forklift and Company motor vehicles as needed.
17. Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, WISHA, and company safety procedures.
18. Maintain organized work areas and comply with 5S standards.
19. Perform other duties as required by management.

related to the effectiveness of individuals in this job. A broad base of current technical knowledge is required
to ensure that standards are met and efficiencies are maintained. Problem solving and decision-making
abilities are essential for success.


QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
HS Diploma or GED equivalency; Technical certification in Welding Technology,
Fabrication or related field preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Fabrication experience required, Mechanic experience required
Ongoing training and education are essential to continue improving work processes, all Novolex employees will
be expected to attend training and education sessions.

 


SKILLS/ABILITIES: 
Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.
Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication best practices.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

 

 

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $26-$30 site performance based bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
