Job Description

 

Operations Assistant

City of Industry, CA - Railroad St. location

 

Compensation Includes

  • Starting Pay Rate of $25 - $27/hour - depending on experience

Overview

The Operations Assistant provides administrative, coordination, and operational support to the Plant Manager, Human Resources department, and QEHS Manager. This role helps ensure smooth daily operations across the facility by assisting with scheduling, documentation, reporting, compliance activities, employee support, and communication between departments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Support for Plant Manager

  • Coordinate daily plant operations activities, meetings, and communications.
  • Prepare production reports, KPI dashboards, and operational documentation.
  • Participate in daily plant GEMBA process.
  • Maintain calendars, schedule meetings, and support general administrative tasks.

Support for Human Resources

  • Assist with new hire onboarding, orientation scheduling, and employee file maintenance.
  • Support HR with timekeeping reviews, employee communications, and policy distribution.
  • Assist with recruiting activities such as posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with employee engagement programs and community events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and HR records.

Support for QEHS Manager

  • Assist with safety training coordination, recordkeeping, and tracking compliance requirements.
  • Support the incident investigation process, including completion of incident reports and conducting employee interviews.
  • Participate in Safety recognition programs.
  • Support plant safety initiatives, inspections, and emergency response drills.

General Administrative Duties

  • Manage document control, filing systems, and data entry for multiple departments.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and communications as needed.
  • Support cross-functional communication between Operations, HR, and EHS teams.
  • Assist with visitor management, vendor coordination, and front-office tasks.
  • Provide backup support to other administrative roles as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, associate degree or higher preferred.
  • 2+ years of administrative or operations support experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with HR processes, safety programs, or plant operations is a plus.
  • Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish
