Responsibilities

Converting Supervisor | HIRING IMMEDIATELY | North Vernon, IN

 

Compensation Includes:

 

  • Starting rate of $26.00 - $30.00 an hour (Based on experience) plus $1.50 shift premium for the night shift

 

Available Shifts:

 

  • 7:00am - 3:00pm (Monday-Friday)
  • 7:00pm - 3:00am (Monday-Friday)

Position Summary

Provides on-the-job training that requires thorough knowledge of related computerized production management systems and mechanical operation of each type of bag machine within the facility. Participates in the implementation of new training programs and may introduce new processes for manufacturing areas. Maintains rosters of training progress, examination as well as certification records, and, in addition, may monitor trainees. Coordinates safety initiatives including facilitating safety committee meetings and reporting.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Champions Novolex/Hilex Poly products and values 
  • Collaborates with plant manager, supervisors, and department managers to identify training needs  
  •  Develops and follows training curriculum to conduct training and/or retraining on machines, material handling, safety, and quality control processes
  •  Documents and tracks training and/or retraining certification for each employee          
  • Supports all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of quality, environmental, health and safety management systems 
  •  Assures that environmental, health and safety training is updated and conducted as needed 
  •  Owns all training modules; as a subject matter expert, the Trainer will provide recommendations to aid in the creation of new modules or revision and improvement of existing modules, job aids and learning materials. 
  • Works with operators to identify and include best practices 
  • Identifies recurring quality issues and train to eliminate 
  • Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence 
  • Provides constructive feedback to training participants  
  • Administers knowledge validation testing to training participants as needed   
  • May serve as a lead and assign work to less experienced personnel  
  • Complies with all Company policies, operating procedures, processes, regulatory requirements, and task assignments 
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees and management in all departments
  •  Performs production work as needed 
  • Other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
  • Work overtime as required
  • Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by management
  • Ability perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
