Responsibilities

Position Overview

 

The Sr. Operations Finance Analyst will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of the business by providing strategic analysis, supporting decision-making, and driving performance improvement initiatives across our manufacturing operations. This individual will be a proactive leader, able to challenge the status quo, foster collaboration, and ensure alignment between finance and operational goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage Financials – Responsible for the accuracy of all plant financials including production volume, conversion costs, material usage variance, and standard costs. A clear understanding of inventory and the controls process are key.
  • Reporting & Analysis– Develop, analyze, and communicate key financial metrics. Provide accurate, actionable and timely financial reporting, variance analysis, and commentary that leads to an understanding of the business enabling improved decision making and identification of opportunities. 
  • Planning– Partner with the Manufacturing Team on the development of periodic forecasts and annual operating plan based on fact and sound judgment with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and accountability. Drive to achieve business objectives and deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations.
  • Capital Management– Support capital investment requests by providing accurate financial analysis that meets profitability goals.
  • Projects– Identify areas of opportunity in the business associated with continuous improvement in areas of financial performance, business acumen, processes, standard work, systems and other areas. Responsible for quantification and tracking of key projects and initiatives. Provide scenario modeling and business case support for strategic decisions.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and proactively propose solutions to improve results. Collaborate with IT to improve data integrity.
  • Act as a change agent—challenging existing processes, driving adoption of best practices, and building alignment across functions.

 

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS required with emphasis in finance or accounting with at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills with an ability to anticipate the needs of the stakeholders and take quick action to satisfy.
  • Experience collaborating and working successfully with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, with demonstrated strength handling competing priorities.
  • In-depth understanding of income statement analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel); Microsoft AX Dynamics, and HFM/Essbase.
  • High initiative, Self-Starter, Able to manage tight timelines/deadlines.
