Compensation

  • Competitive starting pay range of $29.85-$33.58 per hour, paid weekly
  • Shift differential for 2nd shift $2.00
  • Pay: Competitive starting pay rate based on experience and qualifications

Position Overview

A Shift Maintenance Associate should have mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge that allows a comprehensive and thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and controls. Some training in industrial electrical/electronic and/or experience in an industrial environment is required. Shift Maintenance troubleshoots and repairs production equipment when breakdowns occur and installs replacement parts as needed from the on-site stock room. They must make the necessary repairs safely and as proficiently as possible to minimize machine downtime. They may replace items such as pumps, motors, drive chains, shafts, bearings, sprockets, drive belts, sheaves, circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire. They also periodically inspect all equipment to ensure it is operating properly and locate and correct problems before breakdowns occur.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

An ideal candidate must possess and exhibit:

  • Troubleshooting skills with High-Voltage systems up to 480 Volt 3-phase power.
  • Troubleshooting skills with Low-Voltage control circuits, including computer-based controls.
  • Test equipment operation, including Digital multimeters and Amp meters.
  • Ability to test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatics and hydraulic systems.Ability to repair or replace industrial mechanical/electrical/electronic components and other related devices.
  • Help with total preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records using maintenance connection (MC) or other computerized maintenance management information system (CMMIS).
  • Performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance work on automation/production equipment.
  • Performs maintenance, set-up, and PM on automation/production equipment
  • Schematic reading and electrical symbol identification.
  • Utilizes a computer-based inventory system for generating reports to locating spare parts.
  • Perform Maintenance Connection day-by-day duties.
  • Performs quality work within reasonable time standards set forth by management in verbal or written instructions.
  • Utilizes mandatory safety equipment. Executes duties safely and efficiently. Adheres to all Safety rules and regulations.
  • Assists maintenance/production staff as needed.
  • May assist in the training of other employees.
  • Ability to work alone or as a member of a team.
  • Be flexible with the schedule as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring the area(s) of responsibility are safe, clean, and tidy.
  • Follows all Company-established rules and policies.

Qualifications

  • 3 + years technician experience in industrial maintenance; preferred Plastics industry.
  • Ideal candidate MUST have a strong mix of the following technical experience and skills:
              • Mechanical and electrical maintenance
              • VFDs
              • Servo motors
              • PLCs
  • Strong skills in customer service, interpersonal, oral communication, written communications, teamwork, judgement, motivation, planning, organizing, professionalism, quality, safety, adaptability, attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent; preferred associate's degree.
  • Must have own tools and be able to use them safely and effectively.
