Compensation

  • Competitive starting pay range of $23.88-$29.85 per hour, paid weekly
  • Pay: Competitive starting pay rate based on experience and qualifications
  • Increases: Eligible for annual and skill-based wage increases

  • Rotating from 1st to 2nd
  • Rotates every eight weeks

Position Overview

The Dry End Operator-Printer role is responsible for providing a structured cadence for relieving Dry End Operators for their breaks and performing all job duties at the Hot press, Float line, Printer, and Wrapper.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follows all documented safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Collects and submits all completed orders to the Production Supervisor.
  • Inputs end-of-line data into the appropriate system.
  • Provides leadership during downtime per Production Supervisor guidance.
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
  • Assists the Natural Team Leaders and Production Supervisors during transition at shift change.
  • Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
  • Fills in as a back-up for the Natural Team Leader position as needed.
  • Follows established break guidelines.
  • Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
  • Maintains excellent safety record.
  • Maintains an excellent attendance record.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • At least one (1) year of experience in the Dry End of the Macon Facility.  Certified to operate float-line, hot-press, and printer.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment, including successful completion of jobs or similar activities requiring control of a mechanical process and inspection of product to meet quality standards.
  • Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures. 

Skills

 An individual must have the following skills in the Dry End Operator-Relief Operator position:

  • Ability to work safely and to communicate with others professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability sufficient to determine product quality, for example, carton malformations, color verification, and structural integrity.
  • Demonstrated hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient for product handling.
  • Strong leadership potential and/or some leadership experience.

Physical requirements

 This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include, but are not limited to:

  • Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)
  • Sitting for extended periods of time (frequent)
  • Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
  • Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)

Working conditions

 An individual who works in the Dry End Operator-Relief Operator position:

  • Must be physically able to perform the essential job duties.
  • Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour schedule.
  • Works overtime as required.

Education

 High School Diploma or GED
