Position Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading and managing all operations within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. The Plant Manager oversees all plant functions, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, safety, and workforce development, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs. This position is accountable for fostering a culture of operational excellence, employee engagement, and sustainability, ensuring the plant delivers high-quality products that meet customer expectations and support the company’s strategic objectives.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
• Verify that all employees follow Safety Policies and guidelines and SWI’s to ensure safety targets are met
• Verify that all employees observe all policies: GMP, food safety (SQF) and other rules and regulations
• Provide leadership, direction, and training to assigned employees including hands on troubleshooting
• Analyze root causes of deficiencies and ensure proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner
• Propose, plan, and execute projects to eliminate inefficiencies and maximize plant business interests
• Motivate and instruct employees, ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to and administer discipline when necessary
• Creating/updating standard operating procedures and ensuring a safe and sanitary working environment
• Manage, direct and coordinate activities of all employees that report to you while coordinating those activities with planning, scheduling, operations, quality and accounting
• Develop team with skills to maximize performance yields and efficiencies
• Ensure plant goals are met safely and maintain consistency among employees
• Assist Managers, Supervisors and staff with troubleshooting problems and coaching them through improvements and adjustments
• Creating and maintaining Excel reports, provide updates in Power Point for weekly and monthly presentations
• Manage data inputs to the PRMS system to create reports designed to highlight progress in meeting performance metrics
• Profit and Loss responsibilities in meeting Operational Excellence metrics
Requirements:
· High school degree required, secondary education and/or leadership training preferred
· Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing facility.
· Minimum 5 years of experience of employee management skills required.
· Computer systems knowledge including experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Maximo would be advantageous.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills to all levels of management and employees, bilingual is a plus.
